I wanted to point out that all the training that I’ve done in my life has been purpose driven toward a specific goal. In the last six or seven years that’s been to swim, bike, or run, in a straight line and to complete an event. Oh yeah, and get faster. The interesting thing is that what I was probably doing was becoming more efficient, and more technically proficient, but only a little faster.

I honestly think that I’m better than I was from a technical standpoint now than when I started. That doesn’t mean that I burn more calories or am necessarily healthier, just that it takes fewer calories to move the same distance.

This is where I think I’m going. I’ll keep you posted. In the meantime I’ll still run and I’ll be crossfitting as much as I can.

Friday is an off-day, a taper if you will for a half marathon I haven’t really trained for. This will be the last race I run without training.
